Individual Training

Seeking individual instruction for Singing, Acting, or Speech Training is about the joy of realizing one’s own potential. What these three disciplines have in common, is the use of voice as a tool for the expression of human thought and emotion. It is all about training an ability to entertain, move, and even persuade an audience. But also, as with any other skill, the training should at some point lead to actual performance – to action, not just words. To real achievement, not just theory.

It has always been my philosophy of teaching and learning that we should start with possibilities and potential, not with limitations. That is why, as a matter of principle, all students who are willing to learn are accepted. This includes children, adolescents, adults, amateurs, as well as professionals. Obviously, the needs for such diverse students are very different, and therefore most of the training takes place on an individual basis. Since the instruction is provided to students individually, it can be adapted continuously to the learning needs and the progress of the learner. Again, there is no restriction on age or background, and all levels from beginners to professionals may pursue this option.

Everything that is taught in these individual sessions, is based on 35 years of professional experience from live performances on stage, knowledge passed on from internationally renowned performers and scholars, and 25 years of teaching experience.

In addition, the approach to the learning process is guided by psychological principles relating to the learning process, to achievement motivation, skills development, and the handling of performance pressure

Corporate Events

We thrive on providing the most exciting and memorable events for our clients. Our corporate events include all aspects of a professional quality performance, and more often than not, it will represent the highlight of the entire event. This requires great attention to details, such as the image the client wants to present, the purpose of the event, and the type of audience that is invited. Our performance preparation therefore starts with understanding the spirit of the event and the client’s unique purpose, so that the choice of performers, repertoire, performance style, the voice and text of the Master of Ceremonies, even such details as the timing of the whole event, reflects the image the client wants to portray.

The preparation and implementation process for the event is based on 35 years of experience in the highly competitive world of professional theatre. An impressive corporate event including live performances, requires much the same preparation as the staging of an opera, including artistic conceptualization of the style, the selection of artists and the program, the organization of rehearsals, and the conducting of the event itself. The audience need not know the amount of attention to detail that is required behind the scenes, and should in fact be happily unaware of it. For the corporate client, however, this is where the principles of motivational psychology that supports branding and image-building, can be woven into the design of the event for greater impact

Corporate Training

It is not uncommon that coaches with a drama background provide this type of corporate training, but classical vocal training is even more thorough than the training required for actors and any other forms of vocal performance. A voice that is trained to be flexible and applied consciously can control the use of vocal power, quality, projection, and resonance in any situation.

In the same way, useful principles from acting on stage can be adapted to speeches and presentations with regard to variety of expression, accent reduction, and stage presence. This enhances the level of interest and attention gained from the listener, and enables the speaker to be more persuasive and increases the possibility of influencing emotions, attitudes, and ultimately decisions.

Our corporate training programs are rooted in basic principles borrowed from vocal training for opera, from drama training for live stage performance, and from the science of psychology as it relates to achievement motivation and the learning process.

Furthermore, with the help of the knowledge of psychological processes that affect performance level, one can combat stage fright, improve learning results, and optimize one’s presentation, communication, and overall career achievement.

We engage all three areas in training our corporate clients individually or in groups for speech training, presentation skills, and performance coaching based on a pre-evaluation of the client’s specific needs and goals.
